About me

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Multidisciplinary Design Group, Institute for Design and Assessment of Technology, Vienna University of Technology. Prior to this, I was a research assistant and PhD student in computer science at the Distributed Systems Group, Institute of Information Systems, Vienna University of Technology advised by Prof. Schahram Dustdar and Ivona Brandic. I received a bachelor's degree in Software Engineering and a master’s degree in Software Engineering and Information Systems from the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing. I am currently involved in the European TOPIC project (The Online Platform for Informal Caregiving) working in the field of computer supported cooperative work. My pre-doc research was on the economics of cloud computing and SLA & QoS management.

Research

(This website is slightly outdated. Description of my postdoc research is coming soon.)

My PhD research focused on the economic foundations of computing paradigms such as utility and cloud computing that offer "rented" services (e.g., infrastructure, software, and network as a service) on-demand in a pay-as-you-go manner. Most of my research was related to the issues of market-based service discovery and selection. In particular, I examined how diversity and heterogeneity of services and service providers affect performance of these processes and how they can be improved through standardization of cloud service specifications. I was also interested in methods for assessing performance of electronic markets and application of autonomic computing to make electronic markets self-aware. This work resulted in a flexible and extendible agent-based cloud market simulator (source code will be available online soon).
