I am a Priv.-Doz. and an Assistant Professor at the Distributed Systems Group, TU Wien. I am leading the Service Engineering Analytics team in distributed systems at TU Wien. I received a PhD and a Habilitation from TU Wien, Austria. I have been visiting professors at Bach Khoa University (2016, 2017), HCMC, Vietnam, Da Nang University of Science Technology (2016), and (short-term) visiting scholars at The University of California, Irvine (July-Aug, 2017), the Japan National Institute of Informatics (NII) (2017), University of Chicago (2016), Shenzhen University (2016), Lund University (2014), and University of Stuttgart (2010).
I am currently leading the Service Engineering Analytics team. My research is in the field of distributed systems and distributed computing. My main research interest focuses Software, Data and Service Engineering Analytics. Main sub-areas of my research are: Monitoring, Analysis and Optimization Techiques for Programs, Data and Systems; Parallel, Grid and Cloud Computing, and IoT; Data Service Models and Analytics; Socio-technical Services Engineering; and Elastic Computing. Furthermore, i am interested in (free) ICT solutions for (under) developing countries.
My teaching is focused on advanced research-oriented topics with a strong emphasis on learning through the development and implementation of projects and new ideas. I am interested in working with teams of colleagues and students from multi-cultural background. I also like helping students from developing countries with a hope that they eventually would play a major role in transforming the education systems in their countries.
My contribution to practice is through my consulting activities and knowledge transfer in my core expertise. My consulting activities, including training, are through RDSEA Technology for cloud technologies, IoT platforms, and big data analytics, and through iParacel Technology for IoT Networking.
